Things you’ll be doing:
Pre-baking:
Designing: Plan and design your creations and their intended purposes (eg. earring or pendant)
Colour selection: Choose from an array of colours or mix your own!
Clay conditioning: Learn to knead or put clay through a pasta machine to condition clay, also to flatten them uniformly, ready for working.
Clay cutting: Cut clay using cutters provided or freehand using precision knifes.
Adding of details: Details can be added using textures or extra elements like glitter or small clay accents.
Prepare for assembly prior to baking: According to the intended purpose of your creations, make holes for jump rings.
Baking: Baking will be assisted by instructor.
Post-bake:
Sanding: Buff or sand your pieces so that they have smooth edges and look professional.
UV Resin coating: Decide with instructor if UV resin is ideal for your creations.
Attaching hardware: Attaching jump rings and earrings, pins or studs etc. to your creations.
Photo-taking: There are photo stations and props available where you can take pictures of your creations to flaunt them online!
Packaging: Design your backing cards and package them into bags to complete your pieces!
Things to note:
This is a 3-hour workshop. A set time will be allocated for each phase to ensure the workshop ends in time.
Please acquire inspiration pictures or design ideas that you want to create. Instructor will plan together with you on the details of the designs.
Prepare at least 2 creation ideas.
Crafters may create and bring home more creations depending on their own pace. Remember, it’s not a competition! Just relax and have fun!
Drinks and light refreshments will be provided during the planning and designing phase.*
There may be a mixture of different groups per session (up to 6 persons per session). Please make known if you’d prefer to be in a private session.
Crafters are only allowed to bring home their creations and not tools and unused clay belonging to Pastel Days.
Hardware are stainless steel and plastic by default. 925 silver is available at a top up of $2.00 per pair. Kindly approach instructor for more info.
